Objective To unwind a polymer sheet from a roll, pass through cascade of heated/cooled rolls in order to orient and provide higher strength and stiffness. In case PET is used, post treatment (crystallization) is required. Kind of polymers HDPE PP PET Original sheet thickness: 0.8 to 2 mm Original sheet width: 200 mm Final sheet thickness: 0.3 to 1.2 mm (most recommended is to start with about 1.6-1.7 mm and end at about 0.8-1 mm) Throughput : since it is for laboratory, slow process is not a problem. For PET, post treatment by IR heating for crystallization is required (additional unit to the rolls) The oriented and treated sheets should be rewind on a roll.
